Paul has twenty years experience in global agribusiness. He began his career with multi-national trading company Louis Dreyfus in Australia as a grain and oilseeds trader. After some early success, Paul was posted to China where he setup Louis Dreyfus’ research and trading businesses. This coincided with China joining the WTO and a dramatic expansion in trading volumes. In 2003 Paul was relocated to Singapore to manage the price risk and trading desks across the commodity platform for Louis Dreyfus in Asia. This included management of price risk in grains, oilseeds, coffee, sugar, rubber and metals markets across Asia and Australia and the expansion of offices within the region. Following ten years at Louis Dreyfus Paul took on the new challenge of setting up an agricultural trading desk for Goldman Sachs in Singapore. Paul drove the bank’s expansion into the agricultural markets and built a substantial franchise business. In 2011 Paul joined Starcom Resources as an equity partner to build a global agricultural trading business before returning to Australia and taking up a senior position with Macquarie Bank on their commodity desk. Paul is a director of XLD Grain and farmer in northern Tasmania. Paul holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Melbourne.
